Quality of DCU graduates

Hi guys, quick question to those of you who may be in a recruitment role, or who otherwise have knowledge of this: how would you rank engineering grads from DCU as compared to the other universities? Would you rate a graduate with a first from DCU as being on a par with firsts from the other universities? Do you often hire DCU grads over others, or see this happening in your company?

Yes, I realise that this is subject to individual variation on the part of the candidate, but I'm trying to get a general feel for how DCU is ranked by employers: how thorough the degree is thought to be, is it subject to grade inflation, etc. The reason I ask is that I'm studying in DCU now, and I can't help but feel that I'm getting better results than I should be given the effort that I've put in. This is great and all now, but if it comes back to bite me later on through a diminished degree that's not so great.

    Opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks.

the degree is only a small part of what you offer as a grad.

The more experience you have the less important your degree comes. I'd be more worried about getting experience than worrying if UCD/TCD is better than DCU.

I am DCU grad in the US and have never had any trouble competing with grads from the big engineering schools here. DCU was favorable to me because of the INTRA. The placement in industry guaranteed by the college is often what differentiates you from other grads. I also like the exposed to CAE tools, which I perceive to be earlier than some other programs (at least back when I was there). Also the was allot of industrial consultation with designing the course. I also liked the industrial relevance of the masters program.
