Hi, Anybody know if fanore works ok at high tide or just after? Im considering heading doen there in the morning arriving about 11am.. I was told only to go there when the tide is on the push. Any truth in that?

There is some truth in that, but be aware that the water comes up right over the rocks at high tide. There might be a tiny sandy area left but surfing Fanore when the tide is at its highest is pretty hazardous. Nice beach but I don't think it ever breaks bigger than most other Clare beaches.

Fanore has many hidden rocks, can be a bit scary. Also its bloody full of weavers bring the booties :) I like it when the tide is just after turning and on the way back in but that's all really
