    Hi guys,

    I have been travelling and in that time my 2nd provisional license has expired. In order to get a third I need to apply for my test however to apply for my test I need a valid license number. Catch 22. Can I use the number on my expired provisional?

    I have been told I dont need to the theory test again or anything as it within 5 years.

    Any ideas how on this?

    To apply for a third provisional licence you must show that you have (1) taken a driving test in the two-year period prior to the application or (2) or show evidence of an upcoming test date.
    Apply for a test (don't think it checks online if your license is valid; only on the day of the test do they check), and then when you get the letter saying you have booked it, apply then for your third.
