    what would be the best breed of terriers to hunt with or would they all be pretty much the same?

    woodcock, Pheasant, rats. just for hunting not retrieving or anything

    you want a bushing dog not a digging dog, a patterdale wont suit you. go for a bushing russell or a russell/springer or russell/beagle cross.
