    VICTOR ROSADO ( PARADISE GARAGE,NYC)
    Saturday 23rd July @ Crawdaddy
    Free before Midnight/8 after

Following last month's party with Lil Louis, Fatty Fatty are proud to present another debut Dublin appearance for another ageless turntable maestro.

This time it's Victor Rosado, former resident at the truly legendary New York disco mecca, The Paradise Garage, where he learnt his trade under the man many consider to be the greatest DJ ever, Larry Levan.

Victor started off doing lights at David Mancuso's infamous Loft parties, soon graduating to the audio equipment, before eventually being trusted to stand in for Mancuso himself.

He made his Garage debut in the early 1980's and along with a young David Morales, was one of Levan's regular alternates as the legendary Garage DJ increasingly succumbed to an overwhelming heroin habit.

The Garage closed in 1987 but Victor kept on working it, spinning at Morale's Red Zone parties and travelling with Levan to London help open The Ministry Of Sound - which in those days was in thrall to The Garage, moving it's towering soundsystem lock stock and barrel to London and concentrating on the finest disco and house dj's NYC had to offer.

He also span at the renowned Yellow in Japan, a club that was instrumental in bringing original disco-era legends like Levan, Francois K and Tee Scott to those shores for the first time.

In the last few years he has moved into production, with his 'East End' edits tastefully reworking Garage classics for the modern dancefloor. We saw him spin at Al Kent's 'Million Dollar Disco' party in Manchester a few years back, and the magic was still there and no mistake. We've been working on getting him to our fair capital ever since.....

This date will be a warm up for Paradise Garage special at London's Fabric on Saturday 30th July, with Rosado joined by Lenny Fontana playing strictly Garage music 1977-1987.

Support on the night comes from Fatty Fatty/Downtownsounds/NightFlight disco freak Pablo, with Radiomade.ie deep house chun Aaron Dempsey in The Lobby.

hehe .. yeah I meant Wilson Pickett..

in fairness I was in Crawdaddy from 12 left about 2.30 and Victor Rosado didn't play there as advertised.

how long did he play for ? I heard he walked off ...

like i said, he started around 1am and played up to the end of the night.

if you were in crawdaddy from 12-2.30, who was DJing, and what kind of music?

I was in the main room which you go into immediately after you pay in.

I thought that was called Crawdaddy.

I actually never went down to the lobby bar at all.

there were 3 guys DJ'ing in there on rotation and sometimes all 3 behind the decks. I don't know who they were but they weren't playing garage/house anyway. one of them was a baldy guy.

was a good night anyway.. but had hoped to check out Victor Rosado due to his association with the legendary Paradise Garage.
