Hi, Im in a predicament.

My girlfriend,who i live with, has been told that the hair salon she works in is closing. She is a hair stylist.

The best she can hope for now is getting 3 days in another salon as thats all that seems to be out there.

My question is, if she claims for the other days will it be means tested on what I earn? and if so how much would we be looking at getting?

She has paid her stamps since she started workin over 10 years ago. Any advice would be appreciated!!

yep , it will be means tested.

my brother lost his job 18months ago (painter) , his social has been means tested against his wife's money ,
he dole has been cut now down to just €70 as his wife aerns more than €306 a week

Sorry, Didnt mean anything illegal like, i'm just not familiar with the system.
