Ryanair connecting flights question

A lot of us use skyscanner and the like these days to find the best possible deal....i have noticed on a few occassions than instead of flying direct from shannon/london to some sunspot in Europe, it is often cheaper to fly to a UK airport first and then onto the Continent, sometimes around 100euros cheaper

of course i am aware that flying with ryanair and relying on them to make the connection is risky but again a lot of the connecting flights have a wait of 8-10 hours so if one is willing to wait around a while in some British airport then you can make a bit of a saving OR CAN YOU?

my question is on baggage and any other applicable fees, if i fly from dublin to malaga on a particular date, imagine the return tickets are 300 euros, after fees and 1 bag check-in we'll call it 330

however if i fly from dublin to manchester with ryanair and then manchester to malage with ryanair after an 8 hour layover, my question is do i have to pay baggage and other fees again after landing in manchester or once i have paid fees and baggage in dublin, does that cover me until malaga? if i have to pay fees and baggage again for the manchester to malaga flight then the difference in price is not so great and perhaps not worth the layover

apologies if i have made a simple question rather convoluted

You would have to pay the fees again. In Ryanair's eyes they are 2 seperate flights, not 1 trip with 1 connection.

Technically Ryanair don't do connecting flights (but if they did, they would be the worst connecting flights in the world)

Not only will you have to pay for your bags twice each way you will also need to collect your bags at the connecting airport and check them in again there. Yes, it will help kill 8 - 10 hours of your time, but is the saving really worth all that?

Also, worth considering this: Say your carry-on turns out to be too big for the flight out of Ireland and your suitcase is already at the limit, you'd end up paying the penalty for that twice too!

plus factor in sitting around and buying over-priced food and drink in an airport for 8 hours and how valuable you rate your own time.

if you're going on your annual two-week holiday and you've been looking forward to it all year do you really want to spend the guts of two days (there and back) hanging around an airport?

Remenber if the flight is delayed and you miss you connection you will have to by a new ticket for the next flight. FR wont cover as they don't offer connecting flights.

It's really a question of Maths and how risk averse you yourself are. Aer Lingus have a sale at the moment for anyone travelling September to March.
