Internal transfer?

    Hey everyone,

Soo, my exams were a disaster, I failed 3 out of 4 :( I think if I repeat them, I could pass 2 but there is one, chemistry, where I only got 19%, and I find it so difficult, I honestly can't see myself passing it. I studied for it with my friends who are good at it, and even they failed :( They live too far away from me now so we can't really help each other study again..

To be honest I knew I'd performed terribly in the exams, I slacked off all year, new found freedom got the better of me  Because of this, I re-applied for CAO back in January, put Law and Society down.

Thing is, I was looking at the internal transfer form a few days ago, and it turns out that online applications will not be accepted  I have to re-apply "directly"
I tried calling CAO but I either got the engaged noise with "no answer" coming up on my phone or "We're sorry, this number is not in service". I'll try again but I'm worried that the phonelines have maybe closed?

Anyone been in a similar situation? I am completely panicking right now.

Also, could anyone tell me if I dropped out, would my online application be sufficient? I know that is a big risk, but if it's an option I will consider it..

    Hi,

That first year chemistry course is horrible alright... When I took it the pass rate for the class was 25%...

But anyway, internal transfers are done wiothin the college, completely separate from CAO, and while possible, transfer between two completely separate faculties is quite hard. Also it generally isn't allowed unless you pass your exams (not 100% sure on that, but that was the case with a friend of mine who wanted to transfer from japanese to nursing).

Your best option right now would be to repeat the exams and look into an internal transfer, who knows without the distractions of campus you might find that chemistry isn't too bad after all.. And grinds are always available coming up to the exams if you feel you need that little bit more help

Dropping out is also an option, but remember that the points required vary year on year so depending on your points score you can't be guaranteed a place, and you could end up being without a course completely come september.
