I was at the doctor today and he took some blood samples to get tested, will I ring him back or does he ring me? And if he doesnt ring does that mean they were all OK? How long does it take until he has the results? thanks

The amount of time it takes to do the test depends on the test itself, and all the result processing time.

In terms of communication with the GP...maybe call the surgery and ask is the best advice.

The typical turn around time for standard blood tests is 10 working days, at least for James and Tallaght hospital. So wait for 2 weeks and then ring the surgery and see if the tests are back, that's what I usually do. The GP will then either give you the results over the phone or you will be advised to come into the surgery, depends on the test and your GP.
