    well me and a mate do walk the dogs together.2 springers and a terrier..great team for bunnys :D

    will hunt fine but might not be much left of woodcock if terrier gets there first to retrieve.

    Same here - the Carn cross, lab and spaniel make a great team for all sorts of jobs!!

    Terriers are brilliant dogs to work with as they have many admirable traits such as their perseverance and bravery. However if you want a dedicated woodcock dog go with the usual which would be down my way springers or cockers. It is tried and proven. A terrier running with these will do no harm at all and will add some variety to a day out but I think it is unlikely for you to head off to shoot woodcock for the day with nothing but your terrier. Working terriers are mostly used for vermin both above and below ground but some will find game well some as good or better than gundogs but these are the exception rather than the rule.
