Found this earlier and figured some of you lot might be interested.
Clive Barker will visit the IFI on July 13th for a public talk and rare screening of his early films.

The IFI, in association with Horrorthon and Trinity College, Dublin, will be hosting an evening with one of the most imaginative figures in horror and fantasy, Clive Barker. The renowned author and director will talk about his career with Horrorthon's Ed King followed by rare theatrical screenings of his early films Salomé and The Forbidden.

Barker established himself as a leading horror writer in the mid-1980s and since then has been a prolific and enigmatic mainstay of the genre as a writer and later as a film director and producer, notably supplying the story for the Candyman and Hellraiser classics.

His two early shorts Salomé and The Forbidden (both from 1973) are short, visually powerful, experimental films; the first a silent version of Oscar Wilde's play with Doug Bradley as King Herod (later Pinhead in the Hellraiser films) and the second a unique take on the Faust story featuring Peter Atkins.

Tickets are available from the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477 or online at www.ifi.ie

I've met him a few times in the past. The man is AWESOME.

The 2 day conference the School of English in TCD is putting on also looks amazing. He's here on the 13th and 14th of July and I think tickets are still available.

I love Clive Barker.... Would be interesting to attend. Anyone fancy meeting up with me there, don't like going into these things alone.
