How much of the entry fee goes to Breast Cancer Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭ezikel

All of the entry fee goes to Breast Cancer Ireland. It is a Breast Cancer Ireland organised event.

    Thanks.
You know yourself, sometimes 'raising funds for x' means 'the entry fee goes to the organizers, but we will give you a sponsorship card'.

Sounds like a great race, and pleased that the entry are going straight to the charity.
Cani clarify that the tech top is not included in the entry fee but is an additional 10e?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭ezikel

Thats correct dotcomdolly. A pic of the T shirt will be going up on the site soon for people to check it out. They are technical T shirts.

Could this be an excuse to break out the pink compression socks?:pac:

Pink compression socks sound awesome!! Whare can I get me some of those :D This could be a good fast race, given that you start well up the front I imagine so as not to get stuck behind yummy mummies and buggies:rolleyes: Always good to see the money going to a great cause as well.

    They look great! :D

My calves would look amazing in them.

Looking forward to this race. Pacing my girlfriend around. Not sure what pace she'll manage. 28 minutes? 26? Don't think we'll hit 25.

Can't say my wardrobe is full of pink items. May have to ask around.

The website says that there is close to 1,000 registered for the race

Sign on is open from 11:30 to 1:30

This will be the largest field I've run in

Oh well, you'll know to leave more time for the breakfast to settle next time!

Was a nice course and good vibe at it. Just a pity about the rain-I just wanted to go home after rather than hang around as I was soaked through.

The wind in the last 1K was a real pain coupled with the heavy rain. Still managed a PB so I'm happy. Any official results posted yet?

Ran this too, the start was a bit of a disaster - within a 100m of the start the route narrowed and everyone had to negotiate a few bollards.. It seemed a bit too dangerous way to start the race!
My other gripe was the loudness of the music around the main area, I brought the wife and kids down (lad is only 8 months) and they ended up leaving almost straight away - seemed excessively loud for a family day... Maybe we're just getting old.

I did enjoy the race and set my PB :)

That was the unluckiest weather timing I've seen in years! Great to see so many runners out and such a large amount raised for a worthy cause. It's not every day you get to see a pair of lads running around the docks in pink gimp suits (or do I not get out enough to notice :))

Hi, I really enjoyed the run. It was my first ever 5k and first ever electronically timed one. I have a basic question, my time didnt register. I had the tag on my foot and did a great time(for me) but on the Independent my time wasnt published or name.

Its probably something completely obvious but as I said this was my first time doing a race like this.

    can anyone help with this?:o

I had the same problem - if you contact them through the web site with your number and approx finishing time (if you know it) they should be able to get you both your chip and race time

Same thing happened me mary. I dont understand this day in age how all results are not right, ive done heaps of races with these chip times, and if it works "its a bonus", for that kinda race where there there is kids/familys competing (most prob there first race), for their name not to appear or incorrect time is desperate. I hate this system, hopefully somebody will invent or have a 100% system in the future.

It's already been done - wear a watch! It doesn't need to be a fancy Garmin; mine was €11 in Argos but it has a stopwatch and I know exactly what time I run in every race. Easy!

can that 11e stopwatch record and publish 1000 or so times in a race correct?

I'll need to check its vast array of functions. Out of curiousity, why do you want to know 1000 race times? When I'm racing, the only person I want to time is myself...

So you know what position you finished...

god, your either seriously stupid or winding me up.
We have been talking about the timing system, the whole point of it is to take everybodys time, position and correctly publish after event. Do you understand?
