If I can receive them, could someone post a link to a list of frequencies?

    Thanks, as always.

Loads of German stuff but its on 19.2E ie the old Sky/Astra position (SKY is now on 28.2) so you'll need a disk with a dual LNB one pointing at 19.2

    Thanks.

Looks like I'm bunched then. That's too much like trouble! :p

I'm told that Euronews(?) audio can be changed from English to German on Sky. How does one do that?

    Thanks.

Dunno but fitting a dual LNB to your dish isn't that big a deal if you are really interested in German language programming.

Ask in the Satellite forum http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=55

It's been a long time since I used a Sky box, but you select languages from the main menu (not on a specific channel). It changes the audio for everything, but Euronews is the only main channel that has a selection, so when you tell the box to pick German, all the others remain in English because that's the only language available, but when you put on Euronews, that actually has German audio. It should be straight forward from memory, but if you need more detailed instruction try the satellite forum, most there still use Sky boxes so would be able to give step by step instruction.

i dunno. The effort might be worth it

The heavyweight boxing was on there at the weekend for free on german telly rather than 20euro from Sky box office. Champions league and other sporting events are also available free to air.
And if I am correct, thats the same satelite for France 2, so you get a good amount of live Heineken cup stuff there too for free.

off topic, but why would you want to watch Germany telly? I have 100+ channels of it and am disgusted by the sh1teness of it.
8billion euros taken in per year in tv licences and barely a programme that can be watched. Unbelieveable.

Maybe the OP is German or learning German?

I think DW-TV was the only German language channel available on the SKY epg at one time, but they took off a couple of years ago, and then stopped broadcasting on Astra 2 altogether.

You can still get their programmes as video on demand on their website.

Perhaps for the very reason you yourself posted in the same post  and as Mike states the poster could be a German speaker or learning. German tv can be incredibly handy for some sporting events

Cheers guys. The level of helpfulness and goodwill on Boards.ie never ceases to amaze me! :)

Yes, my better half is learning German and would like to hear it spoken. Soap operas are a brilliant way of learning any language. Ditto news, because you can ally the pictures to what you're hearing.

I'll try and change the language setting for Euronews, if I can work out how!

    Cheers!

To Note that with a sky dish additional LNB's are not an option. You would need to be replacing your dish with a round one to use multiple LNB's and ITs probably not worth it.

That said I was given an old Lidl dish for free that I stuck in my back garden on a pole cemented into teh ground against the fence so my Wife could have Polish TV so I have two dishes connected into a DISEQC switch (a fiver on ebay) and I get both HOTBIRD 13e from that and UK channles off my sky dish off astra 28e
