Yep. I have a store of favoured ones I can use. But, they're linked via Photobucket so, of course, I can't show them here with "

I agree. And, rather than having two :p, could we not replace one :p with a new emoticon? Something to imply that the user is being sarcastic, with maybe one raised eyebrow, rather than the  one which is more condescending than sarcastic.

(I've never understood the two :p anyway - could anybody explain it to me please? :p:p)

Boards could do with a few more alright as long as they dont to the other extreme and have hundreds of those all singing all dancing ones.

We need less emoticons, not more. One thing I really hate about other forums are their over reliance on singing, dancing, rolling, laughing, jumping, farting, vomiting, f*cking emoticons.

    What are people, 12?

    no.

    Lazy.

and besides, sometimes no amount of 'discussion' will resolve or explain an issue.

Upper and lower case 'p's both get converted to the picture.

If you're in any way serious about it, Feedback is where you want to go. I often wondered about the two :p thing. I'm no fan of the rolleyes one, as it is too often used in replacement for a good argument. Incidently, any argument you hold against it gets the usual rolleyes reply. Moronic.

Replace the second :p with a one raised eyebrow maybe :)

Fair enough if it was just the case that you could make a :p in two different ways. But why still have two :p options to click on at the right-hand side of each message. Sure, they both are the same.

sure, i'd be happy enough for this to be put in that forum.

thing is, I'm really suggesting more emoticons not only for rudeness sake, although that is quite a good reason, but also for brevity, colour and variety.

the alternative would be taking up an interesting hobby / life, and lord knows that wouldnt do.

    (damn it, no appropriate emoticon)

Actually, I quite like that this site doesn't allow a heap of emoticons. I've seen sites with them, these roll around the floor jobbies etc., just looks bleh, and its not nesessary. I think that you can give a tone to your post with what is available at present imo.

You can be brief, colourful and varied with words, too. Emoticons are a blight upon all discussion everywhere. They need culling, if they need anything. Painful, for preference.

People suggest blocking images, but they miss the point. Like the Clap, it's the knowing what's there, even though invisible, that really aggravates the mind.

Look, i'm as ichewlect, intoolectu - smart as the next guy. or smarter.

I'm suggesting another two, three more tops.

like the ROFL (roll on the floor laughing) instead of LOL all the time.

an some kinda of love emoticon.

I mean where's the love dude? where's the love?

and then maybe a 'slam dunk' emoticon.

    and that's it.

    honest.

well ok, maybe a 'flogging a dead horse' emotion.

    but that's it.

    really.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,299 ✭✭✭✭later12

Maybe we should have a Q.E.D. emoticon, appropriately represented by some don in an oxford tweed.

    Also, a Stephen Hawking emoticon.
