Standard: very good, pace high from the start, flatish routes usually done in 37/38km/h.
    Distances : 40 > 60km

best thing to do is just go along to a race and find out for yourself. try and join a club if you're not already a member and do their club league.that will get you up to speed. distances are quite short with the most being about 50k.

average speed 35/38kph sounds fast but not that hard when riding in a bunch,do go on a few club runs if you can so you can get use to riding in a fast group
as has been said get the one day and give it a go

What's the average speeds for A 3, 2 and 1 races by comparison?

A bit more over longer distances and I'd imagine more accelerations (on hills) etc., ie alot tougher.
