Moving from IPA to UCD to finish BBS

I recently got a diploma in Business Studies (took IT as a subject) from the IPA. I am trying to decide wheter to continue on to do the BBS and I was looking at UCD BBS which is done through distance learning but seems to have a lot more weekend seminars than the the IPA do.

I was just wondering if anybody has every transferred their diploma over to another college and if UCD would recognise a diploma from the IPA so that I could start at year 3 on the UCD course?

    Thanks

I think you have to talk to UCD re direct entry into Year 3 of their BBS with your IPA Dip. I see it's an NUI accredited award, so it just depends how UCD see the content slotting in with their programme.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up speaking to a woman in UCD and the situation is that when comparing the subjects from the first 2 years of the BBS in the IPA with those in the BBS at UCD 80% of the subjects have to be the same.

Sadly only about 50% are the same so its a no go for me. I really wanted to study with a different college this year. I find IPA pretty bad when it comes to their text books. The spelling mistakes and numerical mistakes are terrible. You would think for the amount of money they are getting per student for this course €3000 a year that they would use a better spell checker.

I might see if the OU BBB would be worth while doing.

I am sure you'll find the OU Credit Transfer scheme more favourable to you, so worth a look and a chat.
