    hi,
looking to get myself a good diesel car that does around 50 or 60 mpg. it has to be a saloon and my budget is around 4000 or 5000. so far i was looking at laguna, bora and toledo. im not one bit interested in petrol. i would prefer if it was a 6 speed manual however i could live with a 5 speed manual if i had to. also the engine size cannot exceed 2 litre thanks :)

BOras and Toledos are in fashion with the baseball hat brigade so no bargains to be had.

I'd go to the uk and get an mg zt 2.0 ctdi 135+ with the auto box. Your budget will get a minter. If you don't want the big wheels and sporty suspension then a rover 75 with the same engine and box is the one to get.

BMW engine without the troublesome swirl flaps
    Mitsubishi turbocharger
    Jatco gearbox

Often overlooked but a cracking car for the money.
