Selling a car that needs work

    Hi all

I need to sell my 2001 Peugeot 206 GLX (1.4); the body and the interior are in great condition but it needs more work than I can afford to get done. It failed the NCT back in April and a couple more things have cropped up since, in total: head gasket needs replacing, exhaust box, brake pads & discs, shocks, handbrake travel...

Given that it's high labour cost mainly and the body and interior are in such good condition, I'm hoping to sell it as is needing work rather than scrap it - any idea how much I can expect to get for it, and where to advertise?

Advice and suggestions gratefully received :)

€400 i would think, try donedeal and stick it up for 600 at least you have a bit of leeway

donedeal is pretty good. i'd be thinking 3 or 400 too. not much more though considering the work it needs.

Realistically I think 200 or so? Exhaust could be 300 head gasket and belt 400, pads and discs 300 which is 1k of work. A 1.4 206 isnt worth big money with an nct anyway

You may get more of course

Very few people will touch a car with head gasket failure, as its a labour intensive job to fix, I would agree with Colm that your more likely to get 200e or just above that.

Thanks everyone - I'll try it on donedeal and see what I can get for it :)
