Paint Touch-up?

    Hey Folks,

Does anybody know anybody / anywhere around the general Dublin area who does paintwork touch-ups?

I have quite a few noticeable stone chips and one or two big scuff marks around the front bumper and bonnet of my car.

I've only had the car a few months and I think the previous owner did a bad "cover up" paint on it. It was good enough for when I bought it but after a couple of weeks and a few washes (Hand washed only) they all started to show through.

The car is a fairly striking colour (Daytona Blue) and the marks really stand out.

I've found a few touch up paint kits on ebay for the right code on my car but I'm not too sure of their quality and this car is my absolute pride and joy, I definitely want it done right ( Which I probably wouldn't be able to do :p )

I've had a quick search online but the only places that I can see seem to be adsbygoogle links.

Can anybody recommend somewhere that will have a look at it for me?
Any idea of a ballpark figure for what I could expect to pay?

Or has anybody had any experience with repairing the paintwork yourself?
Anything I should look out for, ect..

Any ideas or suggestions at all really.

    Cheers.

Stone chips are very hard to touch up well. What I did was got a touch up pen from halfords and went at it myself. My car is black and it's probably the easiest colour to match. If you want to give something ambitious a go look at this http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=20127

As for the scuffs, if they won't come out with a good polish then your looking at the guys like paintdoctor (or his equivalent in Dublin) or else a respray of the panel in a bodyshop.

If you want a more detailed reply and options grab a few pics and people will be more than happy to let you know what they think can or cannot be done!

    Get the bonnet sprayed professionally.

Touch up will look sh1te and any of the coloured polishes even if they fill the marks will wash out pretty quickly.

Got a touchup kit from www.chipex.co.uk - much the same as dr Colourchip except they are in the UK. Only used it a small bit but the colour match is pretty spot on and it hasnt come off in the last 7 months or so. I only did one large scratch, so Im careful not to use a claybar or anything on it and it gets a good coat of wax.

It might be worth a look and will be alot cheaper than a bonnet respray - think it cost around 50 quid for the kit
