Dilemma

I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I was made redundant in May 2010 and at the time I had a couple of ideas for new businesses but after doing many hours of research each one came up short. In September I started a part-time post grad and continued searching for work (although I didn't look too hard). As part of my course I had to create a web application which would fulfill a need that wasn't currently being met. I believe that the idea I came up with could work and could have the potential to be the new business idea I have been looking for.
The dilemma is that i have just been offered a job (for significantly less money than I was on previously) and although I want to work I really feel that this idea has great potential. I'm married with kids and have been surviving (just) on social welfare for the past year so if I was to start the business I would be no worse off financially (and if I take the job I will only be slightly better off financially).
Basically I feel that if I was working in a full-time permanent job I don't think that I would risk leaving to start this business although it could potentially be started up on a part-time basis. However since I am already not working I will probably never have a better time to go for it.
    What do you think?

You could be months waiting for income to come in from the website so take the job and work on your website in the evenings/weekend.

My 2 cents worth, but good luck to you!

you've gotta put the food on the table first unfortunately.

you might try a couple of incubators where they will give you some small investment for equity but you've have to get on them first. might be enough to keep body and soul together for a short while to work your idea.
