    Hi all,

We have an old house with a heating system that heats the radiators off the fire. It was put in 1988 and still works fine.

Here is the question for any of you in the know about plumbing.
Can we buy a oil boiler and just link it into this system...???

We dont have a budget for this so in an ideal world we would replace the lot.

i e can we slot in an oil boiler instead of the back boiler system.?

    Thanks for any help

Yes you can attach an oil boiler to it but it must be done correctly and non return valves at the boiler. Make sure you get someone who knows what there doing.

It depends on where the boiler is going to be sited in relation to the rest of the system. You can expect to pay around the €2000 mark maybe more to do it right.

This is pretty much on the money

Garage/boilerhouse unit can be got for 1000 tank another 300
then connect up pipework and fit thermostat

Proper external unit is 2k or thereabouts
