    You need to get an alarm fitted that supports this (as most will) pick a good reputable fitter and avoid meta alarms because A. VW wiring systems and after market alarms can be a pain in the rear and i got a meta alarm fitted to a gold once and i had no end of compatibility problems.

    hi Mar4ix which shop did you buy from ?? there's a couple in england and one in bulgaria seem very reasonable.

    I would steer clear of the 30/40 ebay kits to be honest.I'd also be weary of fitting yourself unless you knew what you were at.

    Also in my opinion if you were going to the trouble of buying a good remote kit and getting someone to fit it.it would be foolish not to go for the whole alarm.

    hi tossy do you know of anywhere selling good kits! the ones in the shops ive found are the 30/40 euro ebay kits being sold for twice or three times the price - fitting them is not a problem

    cant remember which one in ebay, just look where is 100 % positive feadback... and suggest ... buy one, where buttons covered with slide cover.... one what i got, there isnt, and buttons are very sensitive, set alarm, or off, by very small or soft touch accidentally .

    that was uk ebay shop.

    good luck.

    i fitted one of these kits http://cgi.ebay.ie/Remote-Keyless-Entry-car-central-lock-KE669B-ULT-/360361800406?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53e73cb2d6 to my old bora. they are very good. you also get the oe looking remote key fob. you can get the blade cut and transfer your transponder chip from your old key. there is also the option of remote closing your electric windows and sunroof (if you have them)

    i think an alarm is a waste of time. no one really minds them when they go off and if somebody wants to steal your car they will most likely just break into your house and get the keys

    thanks Mar4ix got a kit yesterday (the one that looks like the vw flip key)from mcg autostyling in kells for €50.fitted it this morning in less than an hour - works perfectly and has total closure so the windows go up aswell.didnt bother with the indicators flashing because car already has the led on the drivers door card.:cool:

    donalz the kit comes with two flip fobs with key blanks in them but they're not golf blanks - was told you can get golf blanks and get them cut and there is space in the fob if you want to take the chip out of your existing key.I just took the blank out of the fob and put fob on keyring with existing key - its no bigger than gate opener remote!

    I have bought and fitted 2 of these;
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Remote-Control-Keyless-Door-Central-Locking-Kit-/160605434540?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2564d472ac

    Fitted one to a Yaris...simple 1/2 hour job.
    Fitted second one to my own picasso (the "lock" switch in the original key failed and it's almost impossible to solder in a replacement as they're so small). That was a much harder job, no problem with the locking pulse wire, but the unlock took a bit of working out.

    Both are working fine and have a better range than most factory fitted remotes.
