Hot Water in Tank yet none from taps!?

    Hi,

Hoping for a quick point in the right direction!

We've just had a new bathroom put in and replaced the old tank and immersion but while the water is flowing the hot water is not coming out.

The immersion may not be working I'm not sure, but I turned on the oil fired heating and there is certainly hot water in the tank and the rads went hot, I can feel hot pipes around the tank etc but we're getting nothing from the hot water taps up or downstairs.

The builder will be back tomorrow so hope to get a solution but it'd be great to have hot water for a shower in the morning if someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

Maybe someone forgot to turn the hot water lever to the "on" position.

The exact same thing happened to me recently.I called the plumber and the plumber told me what to do,over the phone.

I turned the hot water lever in the hot press to "on/open" and had hot water gushing out of the hot water bathroom and kitchen taps again.:)

Thanks for getting back, I was hoping it was something that simple but the 4 valves (?) in the hot press seem to be in the open position and no sign of any lever!

    Any other ideas, suggestions welcome.

if the water is flowing just not hot ,then the cold water in your tap is coming from somewhere
with hot water in the cylinder let the cold tap run in the bathroom and flush the toilet a few times
if the water comes out hot ,they might have reversed hot and cold feeds

Thanks for responses but nothing but a cold shower this morning!

The builder is to return today so I hope I can report back with a quick and easy solution.

After further inspection of the water works it turns out the washing machine is stalling after 2 mins with what seems like a lack of water and we have one radiator that is not heating up at all.

It will be great to get our home back in working order!

Plumber was back yesterday and again today, the first problem seems to have been that the new cylinder needed to be raised to keep a pipe level to the gun barrel piping. As I'm sure you can tell, I don't know much about this stuff.

He changed the immersion too but that still isn't working so waiting now for an electrician to have a look at that.

The good news is that we have hot water from the central heating but it took about 2 hrs to heat up! The plumber said it should be quicker in future. Can anyone reassure me on that? Don't fancy the heating bills if I need to turn it on for 2 hrs to get hot water!!

Hope the electrician figures out the immersion! Any insights welcome.
