    they dont want to start rows where Mr Average Viewer wants to watch TG and Mrs Ditto and teenage daughters etc want the X Factor.:D

    If it really is the reason , its a bit odd for state funded BBC (throught ehlicense fee partly) is throwing in the towel.

    I doubt the BBC make the decisions when it comes to Top Gear scheduling. I would imagine that Jeremy Clarkson calls all the shots seeing as he owns (with a mate of his) 50% of the top gear franchise (according to the Telegraph). I imagine he made the call about not going head to head with x factor
