    hi all

anyone know why or how oil would get into a spark plughole.

noticed it yesterday when looking over the engine, anyone shed a light,i dont know if its a bad thing or not.if you can imagine a spark plug its probably just half way up the nut part

Didn't you have the rocker cover off recently? It's most likely the disturbance has ruined your rocker 'O' rings

Yes I agree with the above, If the car is multy valve the plugs tend to in the middle of the head, and have to pass through tunnels in the rocker cover.
These are sealed by o rings or part of the gasket. My old Jag used to leak here a lot and one of the plug holes would be full of oil.
I never bothered to fix it though, just soaked it out with a paper towel at plug change time.

If its not much oil I wouldn't be overly concerned, in saying that it its a 4 cylinder its not much of a job to sort it. Is it a good pool of it?

Whatever you do don't undo the sparkplug and let the oil flow into the cylinder along with grit and assorted crap, that will be a good way of scoring the bore.

A rocker gasket is a cheap and straight forward replacement on most 4 cylinder engines.

It's a 5 cylinder, at least an extra 10-15 seconds work
