I know a lot of newbies come onto the photography forum for a bit of advise and I benefited from the collective knowledge of the forum. One of the most common bit of advise is to join a camera club or go on a course.

I spotted a 1 day SLR course on LivingSocial today in Dublin for only €49 which includes a free night shoot. Although I'm fairly competent with my SLR I think I'm going to have a look at this for a bit of a refresher, hear some different ideas and for the nightshoot - I've been meaning to do some night time shooting of Dublin for ages and have never got round to it, this might just give me the kick up the backside I need!

Here it is http://livingsocial.com/deals/55215-day-long-digital-slr-camera-workshop - only available till Monday.

a quick check of the advert and subsequent check of boards finds this thread:

if its of any use to anyone interested in learning...simply hang around the forum and ask questions - most of us here will offer help and advice, sometimes there are photowalks and organised trips to places.
