PCI wireless card prob on vista

    Hi

I'm having problems with a sitecom PCI wireless card.

It's sitecom wireless PCI adapter mimoxr wl-151

To get it working I have to unplug it & uninstall the drivers, reboot & install drivers, reboot & install card. That's fine, I have it working & all is good for about a day, then the poxy thing says it's disconnected. I've gone through this 3 times.

Anyone any idea what's going on here? I'm new to vista so I've no idea if it's being clever & installing an update for it, thus breaking it.

I want to throw the card out the window at this stage but I know it's a software thing & the card is good.

    Help :o

Update, I rolled back to the previous driver in device manager so it now works again.
How do I stop vista from updating that driver, it's downloading some ralink driver & breaking it

In Windows Update view the available updates and right-click on the unwanted update . Select Hide Update .

I can't, when I right click it I get 2 options, view details or copy details. Thats in view updates history.

I've changed my updates to install them manually, maybe that will give me the option to hide it.

If the update is still installed on your computer then you're grand - it wont be offered to you again (until there's a further update) .

Apologies , I should have said in my earlier post to disable automatically installing updates , as you have done . Right-clicking on any update when you view the list of available updates will then give you the option to hide it .

Cheers nessy, I changed to manual update & could hide it there.

I have to say, I'm not impressed with vista breaking stuff with updates
