Getting a tattoo fixed

I have a small wrist tattoo that I love, except for the fact that the line is not even in thickness. It is quite noticeable as there is 1 particular fat line that bothers me.

I went to an artist with a good reputation so I am surprised that it happened. However I would like to get it evened out (which would involve redoing the lines to the fat lines thickness), but I don't want to go back where I got it because it's him who made it the way it is.

Should I wait a year or 2 until I get another, larger tattoo and get it fixed then? Advice?!
