Blonde to Brunette hair dye advice

I am a natural blonde planning to dye my hair a shade of brown tomorrow. I have pale skin with pink tones rather than yellow and my hair is very long, down past my shoulder blades.

I am unsure whether to go with a light, auburn shade of brown or a darker brown. I don't know whether a darker brown will make me look quite washed out given that my skin is so pale. In saying that though I have seen plenty of people with dark brown hair and pale skin and they don't look washed out. I think I will probably go with a auburn, sort of honey-ish shade of brown though so it's not too much of a shock.

I am looking for advice on the best home hair dye kit and what shampoo and conditioner is best to maintain the colour. Also, what sort of hair dye is best for longer length hair? I don't want to start the process and by the time I get to the ends of my hair, the roots have already exceeded the time period.

    Any advice appreciated.

Light brown. Dark is fine for pale if you are just pale but with red undertones it will only highlight the redness more and wash you out.

I would go for a colour just above a dark blonde. Still though, even if you are going for darker try the light first and judge from there if you think the light suits you/is dark enough.

Good luck. (BTW do not get L'Oreal Foam, it's light brown made my hair so dark!)
