Thinking about going to Cardiff for a week on holidays. I've never been. Does anybody know what it's like? Is it good a holiday place? Sightseeing? Restaurants?

First and main bit of advice would be DON'T :D sorry to be so direct!

I was only there for a weekend four years ago and really didn't think much of the place. We did the tour of the Millennium Stadium and went shopping in the city centre (not particularly attractive) not sure there is that much else to sightsee apart from the castle.

If you haven't been to Edinburgh go there, fantastic city and loads to do.

Hi, thanks. Been to Edinburgh loads of time, love it, but left it too late and can't get decent accommodation (plus it doubles/triples in price) because of the Featival, that's why I was thinking of maybe Cardiff...

Any thoughts on the Isle of Man?

A weekend (or a night) is more than enough for Cardiff.

IOM could be done in a weekend.

At least with Scotland if you get a rental car there's lots to be seen aside from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
