Hi, I was contacted by a women who's grandmother lived in the same town as my father and has the same surname as us, she got pregnant young (around 17) and was brought down to Besbora in Blackrock in Cork to have the child. After having the child in 1959 (a girl) she stayed with her for 1 year and then left the child in an orphanage in Rushbrook in Cork. This women believes her grandmother could still be alive as she would have been around 67-69 today.

Do you have any information on how to track down this women? Does anybody know of an orphanage in Rushbrook in Cork opened around this time? Also what would this women's rights be on getting information from the orphanage? Her mother who was the baby left in the orphanage past away 17 years ago would this make it more difficult?

Any information would be much appreciated.
