Have you checked out Scientist ?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientist_%28musician%29
Deffo worth a listen. LKJ in Dub is a great album, LKJ should be on your Reggae list anyway!
King Tubby : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Tubby , also deffo should be on your list.
    Mad Professor : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Professor

Don't know if you could consider this "underground" dub, but I would contend that all dub is non commercial underground by it's very nature: your never gonna hear it on daytime radio :-)

    Enjoy!

These producers are more or less the cream of the crop, you can't go wrong if you steer your Dub Reggae boat on its maidan voyage through these waters. Its hard to separate these as they are/were all inspired Dub producers. Lee Perry's style wins by a very small nose with Augustus Pablo tied in second with King Tubby, but one and all - Genius producers of Dub Reggae music.

    Jamaican:

    Lee Perry
    Augustus Pablo
    King Tubby
    Prince Jammy
    Scientists
    Crucial Bunny

    UK:

    Jah Shaka
    Mad Professor
    Mickey Dread
    African Headcharge
    Dub Syndicate (Adrian Sherwood)
    Denis Bovel
    Jah Warrior

I don't rate the UK produced Dub in the same league as the Jamaican produced Dub but I still really like it a lot, it packs quite a punch and never veers very far form the dark and serious basslines that make Dub the force it is especially when played on a good rig.. Jah Shaka is my favorite UK based producer.

    Dub Album recommendations:

Lee Perry / King Tubby - Lee Perry & King Tubby In Dub Confrontation 60's & 70's
Lee Perry / Mad Professor - Lee Perry Meets The Mad Professor In Dub Chapter One
    Lee Perry – Megaton Dub
    King Tubby – King Dub
Augustus Pablo – King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown
    Scientist meets the Space Invaders
Scientist vs. Prince Jammy - Big Showdown
X-Ray Music: A Blood & Fire Dub Directory
Prince Jammy Versus Crucial Bunny - Fatman Presents Dub Contest
    LKJ in Dub

To name but a few... Good enough to get started on though...

There a club called "Reggae Fever" in the basement of The Sweeney each Saturday night from about 11pm. They play all that kind of stuff. You should go along to get an idea about other artists... Just ask the DJs...
