    Hi all,

am getting married in a few months and have paid the deposit. Will the new reduced VAT affect the overall price I am paying or as I have signed a contract at an agreed price it will stay as it.

I only ask because I heard third hand (someone told someone to tell me), that the Joe Duffy show said even if you have paid a deposit the price of the day should come down.

    thanks

Similar situation here, asked hotel about this they would not give us a refund but what they did do was throw in some extras for free on the day of the wedding.

There's a thread about it here. Everything I've heard suggests that they should pass the VAT reduction on but it seems to depend on the hotel at the moment.
