    Hi Ladies,

I'm looking to find a pair of high heels that won't kill me. Something nice that i can manage walking in without being in crippling pain by the end of the night. I know i'm not going to find the comfort of uggs in high heels but if anyone has any recommendations i would appreciate it!!! The more comfortable the better!

    Thanks x

Nine West and LK Bennett I find most comfortable - but that said I very very rarely get the 'omg I have to take off these shoes NOW' kind of pain, only the odd time on a first wear. If the sole of the shoe has some padding they are usually easier to wear, and a 3.5 inch heel is roughly my limit for a long day/night. Generally the cheaper shoes have thin soles which is part of the problem, the other issue I find is the angle of your foot, which is why I find over 3.5 inch will hurt by the end of the evening.

It is partly just a matter of getting used to them tho, I found shoes from years ago I thought were high when I got them and sure they're not even three inches, I feel short in them!

Shoes with a platform are comfortable. River Island shoes in particular are very comfortable. I've never had sore feet in them.

I'd agree with platforms for comfort.
Also, try breaking in your shoes before you wear them for a whole day so pop them on for a couple of hours when you're at home.
I have heels ranging from 3.5 to 5.5 inches (with a 1.5 platform) and find them all comfortable. It's just a matter of getting used to them :)

I'm with ThurstonWhore on this - my highest shoes are 6.5" inches & it's all about breaking them in.... platforms & especially wedges are extra comfy though ;)

I think getting a shoe that fits you properly is half the battle - I love the look of some of the shoes in River Island but I'm in between their shoe sizes so it's not worth me buying a pair. Nine West are one of the best brands for comfort, I don't ever remember having that "these shoes are making my feet cry" feeling in them.

+1 to what everyone above me said and get yourself a pair of scholl air-pillo comfort half insoles they stick into the shoe so they are better then all the gel ones that move, or get the compeed version of party feet just use a little double sided tape so they dont move

    Thanks so much everyone!!

I'm 5"9 and i find platforms very difficult to walk in. I don't know if its my height or that i can't feel anything under my foot but it seems tricky! Also the platforms that i do have it seems only my heel and the balls of my foot make contact with the shoe, the middle part doesn't. Not sure if that because my feet are freaky or just a badly made shoe!

I will check out all your suggestions! Thanks xxx

I have a pair of rocketdog heels which are so comfy I picked them up in tk Max about a year back. They aren't too high and I could wear them for a whole night! ;)

I'm the same Slowmoe, I can't seem to find heels which support my high arches (just reread that and realise I sound like an aul' wan!! ;))
My heel makes contact and so does the ball of my foot but nothing in the middle. It's v uncomfortable and means I can never wear heels unless they are wedges...
I am very short though and even with the platform section, the proportion of heel to leg length is all wrong and I just can't walk in them! :(

Ooh, but the best shoes I've ever owned, heels that I could actually walk in were Nine West ones....

I don't find any heels which suit my feet. Unofrtunately I have bunions so I think that's the main issue. I was talking to my physio about it and she said some people naturally have better suited feet for heels than others.

My most comfy pair are a black pair of platforms from Fitzpatricks. I don't find wedges as bad as long as they aren't too steep.

Am the same, find platforms difficult. I do think it is because I've no 'connection' with the ground. Just need to practise more I think!

There are mid height high heels in New Look at the min. They look like proper heels but they aren’t that 70’s type that’s everywhere at the min, way easier to walk in and I’d say less pain full too. They've got them in matt black and nude, not sure about other colours?
