    Hi All

Just wondering if you can help, I've got an 02 Polo, and the Engine Management light has come on, mechanic told me its just a plug needs replacing, but in the last week another light comes on and goes off the odd time, it looks something like this (O), mechanic said its an oxygen sensor, and that he'd sorted it but was only home a few days and it appeared again.

Can anybody tell me what this light is, or if I can view a user manual online, as when I bought car there wasnt a manual with it

    Thanks

    Dee

    Is it this light?

If it is, then it's the brake pad warning light, if your mechanic didn't know this light i'd very concerned. It's a universal symbol!

Edit: Sorry, I did't read that properly first time over, a spark plug would not bring an engine management light in that car, a coil maybe but not a plug, he is guessing and not very well! You need to have a proper diagnosis done using VCDS

That's it kid, crikey I'm clueless! And mechanic obviously is too!... Brought it to him couple weeks back as I'd left lights on and Betsy was dead as a dodo, he put in new battery and said that oxygen sensor was settin lights off.... He's meant to be taking it Monday to do full service.. Think I'll be lookin for different mechanic!

Are brake pads expensive to replace do ya know?

    Thanks

    Dee

Change your mechanic at the same time as the brake pads. :)

Brake pads are not that expensive and can take between an hour and 90 mins to change but it depending on who you bring it to and how much they charge for the job.
