Poplar hawk moth eggs?

Hi guys,wondering if someone can help??I have poplar hawk moths visisting garden[we have a willow tree] and have seen pair mating Sunday morn at 5am,25th June but they mated in our back garden porch and today I saw tiny green eggs where they were situated-I've read that female lays eggs on leaves to feed caterpillars but these eggs are on a concrete wall!!Should I move tiny caterpillars when they hatch on to my willow tree?? I want to preserve them cos I think moths are fab. Thanks!!;)Mothman,what do u think??

How many of these eggs are laid together as Poplar Hawkmoths lay eggs singly or in pairs only?

There are 21 eggs,all in a little group-they look like bright green seed pearls and they have a tiny indentation on them??

Tasha, do you know what kind of willow you have.

When they hatch, which may be in a week or 2, they'll probably stay at the egg batch for a while before moving off to search for foodplant.
Certainly they can't be moved now. they'll be well stuck.

The comparison with seed pearls is very good but are we sure they are Poplar Hawkmoth eggs, as I have only ever seen them in 1s pairs and sometimes 3s under a leaf? 21 on a wall seems wrong and just because this is where the adults mated doesn't seem to be enough reason to take them as Poplar Hawkmoth eggs.

Thanks for posting pics of the eggs,they look exactly like the ones in pics but they were laid over two wks ago now and maybe they wont hatch now...but I'll keep an eye on them anyway and see what happens!! My tree is a contorted willow,not very healthy at the best of times but theres a hawk moth on pumpkin under the tree at the moment.:)
