How much notice should be given if moving job location ?

    Hi,

    Just a quick query. The job I work for is moving people around to different parts of Dublin. You could go in to work on a Wednesday and told that on Friday you have to report to a new location. As a working parent with little ones in creches and school, I would probably need more than a days notice. Can you employer move your job that quickly or should they at least be given you written confirmation or a weeks notice.

    Most places would post things like that up at the start of the week, unless its part of the job, e.g. mobile sales man, where you might be several palces on the one day

    However, I think the only absolute rule would be that you are told before the end of your previous shift.
