Well worth a second look if that's the correct price

Baikal have a bit of a reputation for making cheap, rough-looking firearms that proceed to shoot the bleep out of the center of the target. Pretty, they don't do (hell, their air pistol comes with an unpolished block of wood for a grip because they expect you to carve it yourself). But good, they seem to have an excellent understanding of :D

No experience with their centrefire rifles, but everything else of theirs I've used has been accurate and supremely functional. Serious firearms, but like Sparks says, not pretty.

I hear that they are very good and better then their price suggests , as far as i know baikal hard chrome all their barrels internally so they last a very long time.

I've used 3 of their shotguns,my first single barrel was the best killing gun i ever owned, rugh, ready but did the job superbly.
The single shot rifle looks kinda quirky,at that money £270/ E 315.00 it would make a great starter stalking rifle.
Anyone know if any dealers are selling them ?

I've fired a baikal 12g and a Baikal .22lr, both were surprisingly accurate.
Not sure who sells new though.

Single shot is a PITA though, especially when hunting etc

I thought you had to have more than one shot for a stalking rifle here in Ireland to allow for a quick reload and follow up shot.

Most lads I know started their shooting with a single barrel Bakel. Great reliable gun for the money

Research how the old Bufflao "Sharp " shooters used to do rapid reloads with their single shot sharps rifles.;):). So long as the gun extracts and ejects cleanly, you hold 2or 3 extra shells by the bases in your strong hand between the fingers.Open action, eject shell, feed in one, close action.Aim fire.Takes alot of practise, but can be done...

I ve no doubt that a single wot rifle can reloaded almost a quick as a bolt action but I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that when applying for a hunting license that you rifle must hold at least 4 rounds.

Again I don't doubt that you can reload a single shot quickly

My daddy always told me the same lol when shooting foxes always have 2 or 3 BB'S between your fingers how right he was! and an uncle by marriage of mine had a Single Shot Baikal 22/lr reckoned it was the best 22 ever. I wouldnt knock baikal they skip all the airs and graces and get to what's needed best gun for the money imo.

Baikal have the best bang for your buck.
started out with one of their single barrel shotties was perfect to learn with.
when it came to getting my first 22lr picked a baikal over a cz and haven't regretted in once
