Does anyone know what the rules are regarding travelling into Northern Ireland on a visa issued for the Republic? Have a friend coming for a month and would love to bring her there for a weekend (I know I can easily but want to keep it legit).

    Thanks in advance,

    Mr Sausage

No, you can't transit from Ireland to the UK on an Irish visa. If your friend would require a visa to enter the UK directly, she would also require one to enter the UK via Ireland.

Thanks for that. We may look into getting one as I really want her to see NI.
