Nissan Primera not getting petrol

    Hello all
I have a 97 automatic 2.0l primera that has been lying up for a few months. today i went to start it and it fired up but only ran for 2 or 3 seconds and cut out. It started two or three more times but kept cutting out and would also cut out when i revved it like it had no petrol in it.
Its pumping fuel grand along the line till it gets to the injectors cause i checked by takin off the pipe and turning on the key. I also sprayed a bit into the air intake and it fired up straight away, but then cut out again. Does anyone know what the problem could be with it?...Thanks

A simple test you can do at home to see if the injectors are recieving signal is to remove the injector plug, then take a normal capless sidelight bulb, open out the metal contacts and insert them into the injector harness plug.

When you turn over the ignition the bulb should pulse if the injectors are getting the correct signal.

If you don't get a pulse, early primera models have an external injector driver, usually a silver metal box attached on one of the inner wings/strut towers. This may be faulty but also check all main ignition fuses.

    Is the ECU/NATS light on?

What's happening sounds like what happened to a similar age Nissan we had when we tried to start it with the spare key. The car and key "lost" connectivity. The main dealer reset the keys for us.

Try another key for the car.
