It's my first time heading to oxegen and I dunno how much clothes to bring.I know I'll be wearing a raincoat for most of it but I dunno how many shorts, dresses etc to being.could anyone who's been before give me an idea? Also, are jeans a waste of time? I don't really like my legs so if I'm wearing shorts I would wear tights, would they be ok to wear? Thanks for the help!

Shorts, tshirts, over the knee socks to go under wellies, dresses (not maxis), anything you'd feel comfortable in really. Jeans and tights would just become irritating if it were to rain and with it being Oxegen, it's almost a guarantee!

My festival must haves are a good, windproof rain jacket with a hood, a cheepie plastic poncho (something clear - just in case the rain gets very bad and you need full on protection while still showing off your outfit), wellies, and (this is important), dresses that are higher than the knee and funky coloured thick tights).

Jeans are a pain, because if it's hot you'll be roasting, and if it's raining you'll be drenched and weighed down. That's why a dress (or skirt / shorts and top) and tights are great. You can leave off the tights during the day if the weather is good, but carry them in your bag and chuck them on once it gets colder.

Another thing I found is that, when you're out for the night, it's a good idea to pack in a heavy jumper and a really warm jacket. However good the weather, if you find yourself walking from A to B at 4am, you can get freezing, and it's great to have something warm to chuck on. There's nothing that will ruin your mood more than being cold and not being able to warm up!

This is just my voice of experience. Fingers crossed, you won't need all the rain and cold gear. But better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!!

I'd definitely advise against flip flops! Your poor feet will be destroyed with people standing/jumping on them during the concerts.

A big hoodie is really handy to have for the nights when it gets cold, especially in your tent. Bring a few extra pairs of socks too just in case; there's nothing worse than wet feet!

Not flip-flops! My friend stupidly brought only a pair of them one year, promptly lost them in the mud and spent the rest of the weekend listening to the bands from her tent and having to borrow shoes for trips to the toilet.

Shorts and loads of tights. That's what I usually wear at (irish) festivals. Bring a few pairs of tights and if they get dirty you can just change them and keep the shorts on...because they will usually be grand! And bring a hat. A warm one!

Do NOT bring flip flops. Unless you plan on using the showers there and want to protect your feet. I usually bring wellies and an old pair of converse for the dry days!

    Man, I hate Oxegen. But....enjoy!!

One time at Electric Pincic I wore an American Apparel leotard. They don't have the snap fasteners... Trying to pee was a complete nightmare! I basically had to strip, and in a portaloo, that is no fun!

If you're wearing tights, pack a spare pair in your bag for the day, if it rains and they get wet you'll feel so gross.

I've always gotten by on shorts, tee shirts and then one hoody and one long sleeve top. The LS top can be bundled into a bag and is a nice toasty layer if you get cold. Tights for colder days, and then long socks. Make sure your socks go all the way up your wellies or you will regret it! They get sweaty and rub off you, not nice. You might get welly rash :p

A cross body bag or little back pack are also perfect for carrying your bits around - wallet, phone, suncream, water etc.
