Is it different to a regular old school one?

I am asking as I want to transfer my sim from ol skool one into a samsung smartphone.

Am i blind? Or being incredibly dumb?

I'm not so sure. The gold plate on my newest 3 sim is smaller than my older sim. An older Simfree phone couldn't detect my new sim.

Did the old phone support 3G? have you used it on 3 before with an old SIM?

I can't remember which sim I compared it to. The new Sim was a 3 one that came with a Samsung Galaxy Ace. The old sim was either an older 3 one I got with an LG U830 or a meteor one I got with an LG KU990. Both would have supported 3G I would have thought.

That's a though one. We'll need to run tests.

Sim cards are the same in smartphones there's no need to worry about it.

Ok lads, its a Samsung Monte UK 02 prepay phone. When I open up the back of it and take out the battery I am confronted with what looks like a sim card 2/3 times the size of a regular sim card. I am incredibly confused. Any thoughts??

Basically I want to unlock it and slip in my Irish sim card if that makes sense.

OK i figured it out! The sim card is at the side.

Just need to figure out now how to unlock UK phone pre pay phone :)

A Micro-SIM (as used in the iPad 3G and iPhone 4) is about 2/3 the size of a Mini-SIM:
