    Hi guys,

do people find it is a disadvantage when it comes to post qualification jobs having trained the IATI route as opposed to having a degree?

Its something that is worrying me!

I have been working in industry for the last 7. Two of the best accountants I have worked for have no degree. Both took the long route to senior management roles via accounting technician and ended up qualifying as ACCA and CIMA.

The best route is to apply for accounts assistant roles and go from there. I was made redundant recently so I'm fairly up to date with the jobs market and there is certainly accounting technician roles available outside Dublin.
