That's what I thought. Although they do describe it as saorview. It would seem a waste of the KAsat to also have to put up and aerial for saorview and a KU band sat for free to air.

I emailed but no response yet.

Well it would be a waste given the dish will be pointed as the same satellite that they will be offering their broadband over.

This is good news for sat dish parts! They have obviously designed a dish that combines both 28.2 and 9 degrees!

I notice that it is a once off no sub offer... So for anyone with a combo OR dvb-s2 sat receiver, it will only be a matter of getting your hands on the dish/lnb's only. But once those dishes/combo lnbs are in commercial production it shouldnt be too hard.

    Heres Watty/Apogee >> (to correct me) :)

From the website, it's exactly this.

    * No monthly charge for Satellite TV
**This includes Saorview, which provides you with your favourite Irish TV Channels.

As far as I'm aware, Saorsat as a service doesn't exist yet - it's only running test signals.

Is €370 a bit steep for an aerial/satellite setup then? I wonder what equipment they're using. A combi box?

And do they use there own installers or is anyone from ISAA familiar with the setup.

Hopefully I'll get an email back from with more answers.

It seams a bit expensive. I have seen them for €290 for a combo decoder

    From the email i received.

"Currently we are offering Saorview, the DTT service. In addition to the satellite broadband antenna we install a terrestrial antenna for RTE1, RTE2 etc.
Our satellite partner Eutelsat are currently finalising the delivery of Saorsat through their newest satellite KASAT. We expect to have access to this service in the coming months"

They also said they use a combi box for the terrestrial and free to air channels but didn't specify which one.

Well, a Ferguson Ariva 120 combo box can be gotten for between 80 (polish site) -130 (Irish site) euro discussed here then adding the installation of the antenna etc. to that 370 is a bit expensive!
It does largely depend on what combo box they are providing though!
