played a Lowden acoustic in xmusic yesterday and have to say OMG what a sound , only thing that bothered me was they dont come come as a semi acoustic , you have to get a pickup installed :(

im torn between one of these ( not sure of the model it was ) or a high end Takamine as Taylor or Martin don't do it for me to be honest , although there probably a better guitar , i just love the takamine.

    Ha Ha love the pseudonym.
Lowdens are fab guitars but one annoying thing about them; for me anyways; is the lack of fretboard dots but that may not bother others.
Regarding a cutaway...do you really need it? I can easily play lead around the 12th fret on my non cutaway Gibbo. Cutaways lack something acoustically ...I find anyway. :)

    Hi,

I own a couple of Lowdens; an O35C custom and the S32 Jazz model.

Personally, I'd take one over a Tak every time.

Installing an after market pickup system in an acoustic guitar is easy, and there is a ton of information out there to point you in the right direction.

In my opinion, buying an acoustic (standard or semi) should be primarily about the sound the strings and wood make together, and of course how it feels to you. Once you've those basic components right, then it's time to consider how to go about amplifying that 'perfect tone'.

    Cheers, and happy guitar hunting!

    Tony

    I'd love a takamine, like a ean10c! Only problem is I'm left-handed
