I just had 8 kids, but want 7/8 more

Was just listening to Octomom on The Howard Stern Show and she's talking about having MORE kids! Where is she keeping them?
She had six, then the eight and wants more?

Personally, I prefer Pokemon Cards as collectibles but I know where to stop. What's going on here?

Does anyone here condone what she is doing and how many kids does it get to before the donor says 'enough is enough, put down the díck'?

How many kids do you imagine yourself having and how much is too much?

Eventually, she can make babies full time, with all the state benefits she'll be receiving.

Personally, I don't have any great will to have children, but two, perhaps?

Maybe octomom wants to have 15 so she can have a complete GAA team to herself?

I was hoping the title referred to the OP.

Is there a limit on how many kids someone should have? After all all you need is a bigger pot to cook more potatoes.

I dunno, when you start forgetting names?
I remember a family on Ireland AM with 21 Kids! The mother recited all the names in a matter of seconds. When they asked the father if he could do the same he gave a firm NO! :D

I'd imagine the point where the Kids run the house or takeover á la Animal Farm or something would be where I draw the line.

Apparently she said that she hates all of her children & regrets ever having them..? Doesn't sound like someone who wants more kids! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2009524/Octomom-Nadya-Suleman-I-hate-babies-older-children-animals.html

Well look at what I looked at on yt, she says she wouldnt mind another 7 or 8.
I wonder how many kids it takes to regret them.
I think I'm more likely to go for the 2.4

    She's an idiot.

She's managed to convince the government to sponsor her though, and has penned a high selling book... so maybe not that dumb.

She wants 7/8 of a kid? What's she going to do with the rest of him?

My father has/ had 12 siblings, thankfully it's something he didn't carry on and I only have two brothers.

Obviously her admirably prodigious capacity for baby producing has come at some cost to her intelligence.

She has 14 in total now, on welfare.
But public opinion rapidly turned against the woman the U.S. media nicknamed Octomum, after it emerged that she had six other young children, no partner and was receiving welfare benefits.

She even received a number of death threats. All 14 of her offspring are said to have the same sperm-donor father.

Have as many as you want, as long as you pay for them.

Funny how it's the people who you'd least want having kids are the ones who are having them earliest and most frequently. But then I guess to run an economy governments need more no-hopers at the low end of the scale than they need educated professional people, so why wouldn't they encourage this race to the bottom.

I agree with this. I have 1 child and me and the Hubby both have careers. We can afford to give our child a good life. we would like 3, and will only have 3 as long as we can provide for them.

When the babies were born McDonald's introduced "The Octomom Breakfast" ... you get 8 eggs but no sausage and the person sitting next to you pays for it.

no, but there should be. Just like China has tried to do the rest of the world needs to wake up to it refusal to deal with the issue of over population.

    no way

Global population is already stupidly huge, adding to it helps no one.

I believe that if people could only have as many kids as they could afford then population would drop.

Oh yeah and that really works well in China, were boy babies are favoured over girls. and girls are abdoned. Nobody has the right to impose the number of children a person can or cant have. Your talking about Ireland becoming a facist ruled state. I defo wouldnt support that and Im a worker and provide for my child.

People with shít-load of money would probably be having exactly as many kids as they are having now as they've already demonstrated their chosen limit.

    Absolute disgrace.

Welfare should be for people who need it, not for people who choose to be a burden on society just because they can do it at others' expense.

Wonder if she'd have had them if others weren't footing the bill ?

no, it doesn't really but at least they, unlike anywhere else in the world, recognise the issue and try to deal with it.

Considering the act that she was artificailly inseminated, it doesn't say much about your "banana"...

well i certainly would prefer to live here than China. maybe thats just me. dictatorships never work. think about how you would feel in the morning if it was announced ok 1 child per family. thats fine for people who dont want children or want 1 child. but the vast majority of people want children and we have a right to have children if we can provide for them. no one is going to tell me how many children i can have and if that starts here i will be the first to emigrate.

Just like China has tried to do the rest of the world needs to wake up to it refusal to deal with the issue of over population.
Should we also, just like China, perform compulsory sterilisations and/or abortions on people who violate the law by having more than one child?
if people could only have as many kids as they could afford then population would drop.
No doubt. However, that would mean that some people wouldn't ever have kids - e.g. people on welfare can't support themselves, never mind kids. What about the so-called 'working poor'? I wonder if I could afford a child...my and my OH both work full-time. I'm also in college. I doubt that we could afford a child. How does anyone know how much a kid costs before they have one? If people were only allowed to have as many kids as they could afford, those who are already marginalised and disadvantaged would suffer further discrimination and injustice. Not to mention that would violate their human rights - particularly article 16 of the UDHR

Ya but when you abort a child because its gender or simply abandon it thats fcucked up too.

They also have a problem finding women to marry their sons in China.

This comes down to the lack of value on a woman's head in that part of the world. The male being the heir etc.

It's sort of a chinese form of eugenics.

That's all well and good till we're fighting wars over water. Those children or your children's children won't have a very nice planet to live on.

Everyone should be responsible pro creation wise. Instead of having four just have two. Its easy.

Or abortion should be legalised. This is a real issue ye know.

Before the famine Ireland had a population of 8 million and it was not overpopulated. Sorry if i dont agree with the fear mentality of what about generations to come. Life is for living. If you dont want kids, thats your choice, but if you think ur saving the planet by not having them then ur deluded.
If i can afford 6 kids I will have them. and happliy. as it is we want 3 and we have the means to have them financially so we shall.

Or maybe if you neutered men after they had 2 or 3?

But what's wrong with four kids anyway?

Unless she chooses to have her children through normal conception methods, she will not be having any more. The doctor who implanted the 8 embryos has been struck off, and will never practice medicine again. They will look very closely at her next fertility doctor.

In ireland, regulations are strict. They will not risk implanting more than 2 embryos when undergoing fertility treatment, as the risks to more than 2 babies involved is too great- inevitably they will be premature, and risk respiratory problems, or underdeveloped organs, cerebral palsy, They will certainly need neo-natal ICU care for several weeks after birth. And thats if they even survive such crowded conditions in the womb.

If the doctor who gave her the octuplets got struck off she at the very least should be blacklisted from every fertility specialist in the US.
