If you're a member of a club then you should ask there if they give lessons. You might be able to get them for free or for a knocked down price.

Failing that, give the driving range up in Newpark a buzz. They could sort you out with lessons with the pro in there.

It's expensive enough though. I think it's €25 for every half hour and 6 half hours for €125. The only people I've ever seen in there getting lessons are people rolling up in the latest Mercs.

I've no idea how good or bad he is up there.

Keith Mongan is his name. I know a few people that have went to him. They all come back playing better golf after seeing him so I guess couldn't do better than that. I'v spoken to him a few times myself and he seems like a sound bloke.

One of my mates was just starting out and maybe gave him a bit too much info considering he was just a beginner. But that better than someone being too vague if you ask me. All you would have to do is ask him to keep it simple in the beginning I guess.

25e is not too bad for a PGA accredited pro too.

Yea he seems pretty sound from what I've seen of him. Make sure if you are booking a time that it's not during the peak hour. If there's no room on the grass then he'll move you into the bay and you don't want to pay that much and be playing off astro turf.

From looking at the OP's other thread on KK golf it would seem that he's no beginner though, supposedly playing off 12. If so then he'll be the best golfer I've seen getting lessons up there.

I've seen some dreadful people there over the years. Dunno how he keeps sane trying to teach people that, in some cases, are physically unable to become better golfers. I suppose the €25/half-hour fee he's getting helps an awful lot.

It's good money all right  Ah no i'v a mate and he go's to him a couple of times a year. It's a half hour lesson but he says it only takes 5 min to cover whats needed. Few tweaks here and their is all. As far as I know their are a few really low single digit players that would have went to him around the area. I never bothered going to him myself but have the number in the phone and it's been threatened a few times the last few weeks :o

Jimmy Bolger @ Kilkenny Golf Club is highly regarded. He does a deal on 5 or 6 lessons if that's of use - I have one rotting in my bag for 18 months (1 lesson used, for shame)... He won't wreck your head with technical overload.
In my early days I've had 2 lessons with Keith Mongan and and found him grand though can't remember many details at this stage... my 3 formal lessons ever.

I would highly recommend Jimmy Bolger in KK Golf Club. He's heavily involved with the club teams etc (which is a good sign), anyone I speak to cant say enough about him. I do know him, he's very approachable and hes not the type of guy to rope you into lots of lessons either.
