The Rachel Corrrie as well. Let's hope this is the full extent of history repeating itself and the IDF scum don't go on a killing spree of innocent civilians once again. There were reports in Jan of the ship being under Israeli surveilance.0 -

Hurriyet reported Turkish diplomats as saying that the investigation revealed that the damage done to the ship had occurred before it docked, and was most likely not caused intentionally.
According to an activist, the engine of the Irish vessel was damaged in such a way that would have caused the ship to sink in the middle of the ocean and cause fatalities.
The flotilla spokesman, Dror Feiler, told Army Radio that he has no proof that Israel was responsible for the damage, but that the state would do everything in its power to prevent the ships from heading to Gaza.
“I saw the damage and it is clear that it was done in a planned and professional way,” he said. “The Israeli government is the only one that could benefit from this.”
On Monday, the propeller of the Greek-Swedish ship "Juliano" was found broken, and Gaza flotilla organizers said they believed it was deliberate sabotage by Israel. Due to the vandalism, flotilla participants have organized guard duty rosters for each ship that is due to sail for Gaza.
Meanwhile in Greece, the government issued a statement on Friday, saying that the departure of ships with Greek and foreign flags from Greek ports to the maritime area of Gaza has been prohibited. The statement explained that this is in a bid to prevent a breach of Israel’s naval blockade.
The flotilla is set to head toward Gaza a little over a year after Israeli marines stormed another pro-Palestinian flotilla that had approached the strip. Nine activists died in the on-board clashes, provoking an international outcry.0 -

Not that Turkey can be trusted at this point either. They're more concerned with providing NATO bases for ground attacks on Syria. The whole article is nonsense, nameless Turkish diplomats and Dror Feiler is not the Flotilla spokesman, he is not even a spokesman for the Swedish-Greek-Norwegian ship which was also sabotaged in Turkey, Mattias Gardell a University professor is. And this is just a bridge too far for me, when murder becomes "Nine activists died in the on-board clashes".

The Greek Port Authority received a tip from "someone" that the ship was not seaworthy. The Greeks (who are now in the clutches of the international banksters) acted upon the the tip which would've taken weeks to resolve with all the red tape so the ship made a break for international waters and were caught by the coastguard and the captain was imprisoned and is being charged with a felony.
In the last half hour or so the Canadian ship made a break for it too, was caught and towed back to dock.

On June 24, Joseph Dana, a journalist who will traveling aboard the US boat to Gaza, discovered that an anonymous private legal complaint had been filed against the Gaza Freedom Flotilla. The complaint alleged that US boat, “The Audacity of Hope,” was not sea worthy and therefore was unfit to sail. In response, the harbor master in Athens, Greece, where the boat was docked, told the crew that he could not allow them to leave until the complaint was resolved.
Two days later, the Israel Law Center, Shurat Hadin, accepted responsibility for the complaint, which was essentially a baseless but startlingly successful exercise in legal harassment. Who is Shurat Hadin, and what is their agenda? According to the group’s website, Shurat Hadin is a Tel Aviv-based law center that specializes in lawsuits against “terrorists.” Its founder, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, describes herself in her bio as a “human rights activist.”
Darshan-Leitner began her harassment of the US boat to Gaza began weeks ago when it filed a civil action against “perceived supporters of Hamas” on behalf of Alan Bauer, an American doctor who was injured along with his son in a 2002 Jerusalem bombing attack. The action also threatened maritime insurance companies with legal consequences if they insured any of the boats involved in the flotilla.
I have discovered that a major donor to Shurat Hadin is the homophobic far-right Pastor John Hagee. In March 2010, I reported that Hagee appeared beside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a major rally in Jerusalem to denounce the two state solution and announce the financial contributions he and his supporters were making to Israeli organizations. Among the organizations Hagee said he had bankrolled was Shurat Hadin.

Yeah it is odd. I think their claim is that those aboard the Audacity of Hope are basically terrorists and if you enable these terrorists in any way - insurance, communications, coast guard etc these Israeli supremacist lawyers are going to come after you.
