i have a coopers real ale to brew and I'm thinking of doing something different. I'm thinking of adding peach and melon in muslin bags to the brew for it's fermenting period. For a hint of peach and melon. Would this work? How much melon and peach would I need if I were to do this? Thinking of priming with honey too.

Badger Ale in the UK do a Ale with peach and melon favours, it's a lovely drink.

Not too sure about the flavourings but I've added honey before at high krausen as well as for priming and it came out a treat. Honey takes quite awhile to ferment out though.

Worth giving a go, but it might take a bit of trial and error to get right. If you can, split the batch into smaller ones -- say 5L or so -- and add different amounts to each one. Freezing and thawing fruit will help it break down in the beer more easily, and make sure anything that goes into the beer is either sanitised or boiled. I don't know what the muslin is for, though: why not just chuck the fruit straight in?
