Four players DQ'd in first round. Weird. Obviously some mix up somewhere, maybe a couple of players forgot to swap cards on the first tee or something.

2 of them in the same group.

Someone is going to need a marker tomorrow

It said earlier on European Tour website that "Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg and South African Jaco van Zyl were both disqualified due to a serious breach of the water hazard rules on hole 18. Each player failed to use the correct dropping area", but its not on the page i saw it anymore.

Didnt see any reason on why the other 2 were DQ'd

Sounds like the kinda thing that should carry a two-shot penalty as opposed to a DQ? Harsh.

Ireland's Damien McGrane was disqualified for taking a wrong drop, along with English qualifier James Ruebotham, South African Jaco Van Zyl and Swede Rikard Karlberg.

Am sure there is a better link to it somewhere.

probably ended up signing for a wrong score in the end which was the cause of the dq.

I must say, Bubba Watson has been pathetic at the French Open this week. His bad play wouldn't bother me so much - it's his demeanour. He said he was homesick after Day 1 - fer f*ck Man, you only left home on Tuesday!

He's complained about too many cameras and noisy fans when there is surely twice as many cameras at your average PGA Tour event and a whole bunch of idiots shouting "IN THE HOLEEEE!" as you tee off at a 600-yard par five.

Methinks some of these insular yanks need their horizons broadened a bit. I really hope he didn't receive an appearance fee for this week. Compare his miserable showing to Dustin Johnson's - DJ just came over, played his golf and was an asset to any event he played in.

Come back soon Dustin but leave your pal Bubba behind.

Huh, just been mentioned on Sky Sports that he refused to share a courtesy car with a Euro Tour player yesterday and demanded his own. Wow. I'd have made the c*nt walk.

Bubba's attitude towards to the European Tour, who have paid him a €250,000 appearance fee, and fellow competitors is nothing shortly of a f*cking disgrace.

Not that he gives a flying f*ck, but one of my favourite and most admired golfers over the last two years has just ruined his reputation with me.

F*ck off back to the PGA Tour Bubba & don't come back.

He got a quarter mill? F*ckin outrageous... Any appearance fee should surely be dependant on him at least making the cut. I believe he purposely missed the cut here this week.

As you said, one of my favourite players has just soiled his bib big time as far as I'm concerned.

250k is ridiculous. It isn't the easiest course but he didn't try much. I agree that the appearance money should be dependant on at least making the cut.

Also Dustin Johnson has been mentioned and everything is true. He behaved and competed admirably in all European Tour events. I also remember him at the JP invitational last year. He spent outrageous amount of time with people signing autographs and standing for photos, all with a smile on his face. Good guy.

I echo your words on Dustin Johnson. He hasn't played his best golf on the European Tour but he attends and respects those events as a professional golfer should. Okay he is paid a large appearance fee but nonetheless he has stated himself he is willing to play more on the European Tour.

I think most of us who follow golf are very, very surprised with Bubba's attitude this week. A real, real shame as he has become inconic and loved very much, in a short space of time, for many young followers of the game.

Levet wins his national open. Big collapse from Morrisson on the final day.

Perhaps Levet will serve as inspiration for Harro in the Irish Open. :pac:
